I worked with Derrick in the 1980's, at Mayfair and Paddington libraries as his deputy. He was a great manager and friend, kind and thoughtful with all the staff, always full of new ideas for the service and keen to involve everybody. There were some very enjoyable picnics and outings with Derrick, Ros and other friends at weekends too!
